BuddyGraph

Overview | Projects | Examples/Demos

BuddyGraph is a personal visualization research project created by Jeff Potter that allows anyone like you to see how your social network is connected by analyzing your email files.

A social network is simply who knows who. This visualization shows each person as a name on the screen, and draws a line between any two people when they know each other.

This software works by analyzing an individual's email files to generate a list of connections. A surprising amount of data comes from its ability to form groups out of individuals, which allow a knowledgeable interactor to deduce trends in the data set and infer connections surrounding events.

You can watch a video (11 Mb) of the SNF/BuddyGraph Visualizer.
